Lancer Radio, located on the beautiful campus of Pasadena City College, is a student-operated radio station, streaming 24/7 and providing a platform for students to produce quality live, remote & downloadable radio.
The mission of Pasadena City College is to provide a high quality, academically robust learning environment that encourages, supports and facilitates student learning and success.
TALK PROGRAMMING: Lancer Radio hosts a variety of talk programs, covering political issues, current affairs, entertainment trends and technical trends. Lancer Radio hosts provide provocative in-depth commentary and bring in experts in their respective fields for live in-studio interviews.
SPORTS PROGRAMMING: Lancer Radio remote team provides live remote coverage of PCC athletic event on campus. Event coverage includes men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, water polo, track and football.
MUSIC PROGRAMMING: Lancer Radio music programming combines in studio-performances from up-and-coming indie artists with in-depth interviews of local bands and artists performing everything from folk to punk. Stay tuned for our live video feed of studio performances!
NEWS PROGRAMMING: Lancer Radio utilizes the skills PCC broadcast students are developing to provide hourly local and national news broadcasts.

Radio Production (28-29 units):
Program Description:
Radio Production curriculum prepares students to work in various areas of broadcasting and electronic media. Course work covers basic aspects of radio production, audio production, post-production sound, and announcing and writing for broadcast, cable and digital medias. Practical internships are offered in professional facilities, including commercial and public broadcast companies, cable television, production and post-production companies. Students selecting the “Radio” track of this program will produce a weekly show for the college radio station. Radio Production students are prepared for such positions as radio hosts/announcers, news reporters, production assistants, program producers, and audio editors for radio.
Occupations within the industry of telecommunications and digital media technologies are inherently competitive, and/or may be low-salaried. Inexperienced graduates are not generally hired.
A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.

Lancer Radio Network staff is made up solely of Pasadena City College’s Radio Production & Operations students. Lancer Radio staffers work as producers, announcers & dee-jays and production crew in insuring that Lancer Radio’s programming is always fresh and serving the PCC and Pasadena community.
