Since 2011, Rachael Worby has been erasing the line between orchestra and audience.

That was the year Rachael created MUSE/IQUE, a Pasadena-based performance ensemble that combines different genres, unconventional performance venues and eclectic artists to give the audience a truly different experience with music–classical and otherwise!

MUSE/IQUE has a special performance, “Powerhouse from the Firehouse: the Legendary Tena Clark Backstage”, coming up on Monday, March 11th.  Patti Austin will be making a special appearance in this event celebrating the work of iconic songwriter/producer Tena Clark.   PCC students with ID not only get a huge student discount–Rachael says they can get in, even if the event’s sold out!

Rachael talked with Lancer Radio reporter Dot Cannon about her experiences as one of the nation’s first female orchestra conductors, the founding of MUSE/IQUE, and the special events coming up as part of MUSE/IQUE’s “Uncorked Series”.
