Zen and the Art of Mental Health

Midterms, deadlines, work schedules and personal lives may seem very far removed from Zen and a state of mental tranquility.

Pasadena City College’s “Journey to Wellness” program is working to change that.  The project, funded by a two-year grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office Student Mental Health Program, aims to create the kind of mental wellness, on-campus, that promotes student achievement.

The “Journey to Wellness” program includes workshops, special events and the Wellness Center, located in L003.  Education Advisor and Program Coordinator Theresa Reed talked with “PCC Voices” co-anchors Dot Cannon and Parys McNair about the services the Wellness Center offers–including their “Zen Corner” and quiet time!
